Minister of Gender,Labor and Social Development, Hon. Janat Mukwaya, accompanied by H.E. Stephen Mubiru, Uganda's Ambassador to Women Turkey, attended the 3rd International Women and Justice Summit held on 23rd-24th November 2018 in Istanbul, Turkey. The Minister in her statement during a panel discussion underscored the importance of a human rights approach to gender issues instead of feminism approach, a case for Uganda.

The Minister held a meeting with her counterpart Hon. Zehra ZumrutSelcut on the sideline of the Summit. The meeting focussed on birateral relations with specific attention to labour export formalization between the two countries
